Rehab Initiative (RI) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) joined hands to host a special visit for the spouses of representatives from various diplomatic missions in Pakistan on 25th April’ 2024.
The event, held at the Rehab Initiative headquarters, welcomed esteemed guests from Belgium, Japan, Denmark, Thailand, and Jordan on Thursday.
The primary objective of the event was to showcase the collaborative efforts between ICRC and Rehab Initiative in enhancing the quality of physical rehabilitation services across Pakistan. Participants were given the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative impact of these initiatives on persons with disabilities and the broader community.
For over four decades, the ICRC has been at the forefront of the Physical Rehabilitation Programme (PRP), supporting and empowering people with disabilities in Pakistan. The event guests were warmly received by Chairman of RI, Dr. Bakht Sarwar, Mr. Ahmad AL-MOSA, Manager of ICRC’s PRP program in Pakistan, Chief Executive Officer of RI Mr. Sirajul Haq Ghouri, alongside their dedicated staff.
Reflecting on the journey of the physical rehabilitation program, Dr. Bakht Sarwar and Mr. Ahmad AL-MOSA expressed their gratitude, stating, “Our partnership with organizations such as Rehab Initiative has made a significant difference in improving access to top-tier rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, facilitating their integration into society.”
With a mission to enhance mobility and foster active participation in society, the RI has positively impacted the lives of over 154,665 individuals in the past decade alone.
