Punjab establishes five Paraplegic Centres for Orthotics and Prosthetics Provision

The provincial government has approved a program to provide artificial limbs, with Paraplegic Centres established at five sites across the province. The program will allocate Rs 300 million to benefit an estimated 3,000 patients.

The program is expected to launch in August 2024, with patient enrollment starting in September 2024 and limb distribution beginning in December 2024.

The Artificial Limb centres will offer customized services, including medical and nursing care, rehabilitative therapies, and assistive device services such as prosthetic fittings, wheelchair provision, and supply chain management.

The centers have been set up at district hospitals in Multan, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Dera Ghazi Khan. The provincial government has stated that the program will be closely monitored by the leadership.
